Chasing Sunrises and Sunsets!
Have you ever forgotten to close curtains of your window
either when you were too drunk or too lost to close them? I did, usually I
wouldn’t prefer the sunrays flashing hot into my eyes on a Sunday morning especially
after working tirelessly entire week. But that morning came as a surprise, it
were the same sunrays that shone in my eyes and instead of going all mad about
it I was wide awake as if that was the best sunrise ever, could be the vacation
high, or I was really appreciating the fact that I didn’t need an alarm to wake
up.
It was late afternoon when we reached Gili T, we had nothing
much to do other than looking for place to stay, renting bicycles and grab some
beer. The first two were taken care of, now we were looking for a perfect spot
to spend the evening at and what could have been better than a place called
Sunset Bar that serves you Beer while you drool in the beauty of sunset at an island.
It was the perfect place to be with not many people around, enjoying the same moment
as us while the sun sets trying to hide itself behind the white clouds turning
them flaming orange, reflecting the same in blue water. The jet trail alongside
the orange clouds felt like the most serene moment of my life, but that was
just not what the nature had to give back to me for the island life I chose.
The night on the islands can be real starry, and I just love star gazing, especially on islands where the sky is dark and stars are brightly visible, we had a hard time looking for the constellations and instructor’s
phone showed some constellations that I have never heard of before, but we
could still spot the north star amongst all the bright shining stars. I could
have passed out on that beach chair while gazing the stars if it wasn’t for
instructor to save the wandering soul everytime.
Next morning we were up as early as 5:00 AM in the
morning so we decide to experience the Sunrise which was supposedly very
difficult for last few days with the diving schedule and party nights. That
sunrise in Bali was just a sneak peek for entire movie that was going to unfold
now, with no one on the white beach we seized ourselves beach chair with the
view of dark waters and enormous Mount Rinjani somewhere in middle of that blue
strait. It was a little dark when we got there, but soon the sun started to
rise atleast the change of lights gave a premonition of sunrise and came in the
first rays of sun peeking out from Mount Rinjani as if it was hiding behind the
mountain all this while, the mandatory scenery picture which we all might have made
while we had an art class in school was actually coming real the only
difference was it was million times better that what I drew, the colours were
not just the crayon yellow but multiple shades of yellow and orange changing
the shade of sky into multiple blues and water to turquoise green, leaving the
white sand shining and my face pink flush for experiencing the most divine
moment.
Wow sayali you have worded your experience so nicely . It actually gives a deja vu feeling .
